The effects of the coronavirus lockdowns across the world saw a drop in the overall carbon emissions, thus giving us a second chance in fighting climate change. Packed with exclusive Augmented Reality content, Climate is a pre-exhibition experience that leverages the PTV Network and the time taken to commute to MDW Exhibitions.

Themes of the Melbourne Design Week Brief
A critical role of design is to imagine and create alternative worlds with inventions, products, services, environments, materials and processes that respond to current issues and improve the quality of life for everyone. In 2021, Melbourne Design Week (MDW) asks: Which world will we make together when we know tomorrow will be very different to today?

Take care to design the world that you want.
"Design the world you want."

The NGV Brief

After the initial unpacking of the brief, we categorized benefits as either internal or external by looking at how the user feels from interacting with the product. After the benefits were categorized, we found patterns which became our solutions for labelling and naming individual products. This exercise ensured that we were able to take all the information and turn it into a set of distinct and intuitive product offerings.

Video Walkthrough
Climate is a light-hearted and playful way to visualize the environmental impact of your journey to Melbourne Design Week exhibitions. The app uses real-time transport data from Weather.com, and transfers it into an immersive experience, where you learn about the climate impacts of during your journey. Travelling by public transport accounts for less than 10% of total carbon emissions in Victoria. You can aim for a better score if you choose Yarra trams to get around during MDW.
